Martin A. Schwartzberg
Mr. Schwartzberg’s practice concentrates in the areas of professional liability defense and construction law.
He represents architects, engineers and land surveyors in litigation where damages are being sought for professional malpractice, breach of contract, construction delays, personal injury and property damage.
Mr. Schwartzberg has given lectures to architects and engineers discussing various liability issues involved with their respective practices. He has handled cases from inception through trial and has argued a number of appeals.
Prior to joining L’Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini, L.L.P.’s Design Professional Practice Group in 1997, Mr. Schwartzberg was associated with two defense firms in New York City, where he concentrated in the areas of construction/Labor Law and premises liability, representing construction companies and a municipal agency.
His broad range of experience enables Mr. Schwartzberg to better represent his design professional clients in all aspects of their practices.
Mr. Schwartzberg received his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 1989 and received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1986.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
