Mr. Charwat received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School. This was preceded by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Highest Honors from Lehigh University.

Immediately after his graduation from law school he worked for two (2) years in the Tax Division, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C., under the Attorney General's Program for Honor Law Graduates, where he handled matters in various courts including the United States Supreme Court.

Thereafter, Mr. Charwat concentrated his practice in estates and trusts, including estate planning, Wills, trusts, the implementation of various estate planning strategies, and estate and trust administration.

In addition, Mr. Charwat represents and counsels businesses in all aspects of corporate and business matters, corporate and commercial transactions, real estate matters, business succession planning and asset protection planning.

Mr. Charwat is a frequent lecturer on estate planning topics. He served as Chair of the Tax Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association (1998-2000), President of the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County (1978-1979) and Chairman of the Estate Planning Committee for the Nassau Chapter, NYS Society of CPAs.

Mr. Charwat is inventor of the Estate and Gift Tax Estimator, and he was involved in the preparation of a book on estate planning, Solving the Estate Tax Dilemma.

He has written various articles on estate planning including an article published in Estate Planning magazine.

He is a member of the Tax Law Committee and the Surrogates Court Estate and Trusts Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.

Mr. Charwat is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Supreme Court and the Tax Court of the United States.

While engaged exclusively in the practice of law, Mr. Charwat is also a Certified Public Accountant.
